Accredited partners

ISO/IEC 17020 and 17025 work, through partners in China.

ROBION does not hold accreditation. When a buyer, insurer or regulator needs an accredited inspection or lab report, we scope the work and coordinate it with CNAS-accredited partners.

Two standards, two kinds of evidence.

ISO/IEC 17020
Inspection bodies

Sets requirements for the competence, impartiality and consistency of bodies that inspect products, processes and installations.

Output
An inspection report issued under the body's accreditation.
Independence
Bodies are classed Type A, B or C. Type A is fully independent of the parties involved.
Typical use
Pre-shipment or production inspection where a buyer, insurer or marketplace asks for an accredited inspector.
ISO/IEC 17025
Testing and calibration laboratories

Sets requirements for laboratories to produce valid, traceable results. Accreditation applies only to the methods listed in the lab's scope.

Output
A test report for the listed methods, carrying the accreditation mark.
Scope
Method by method. A lab accredited for one standard is not accredited for its neighbours.
Typical use
Battery transport and safety tests such as UN 38.3 or IEC 62133, and radio or EMC tests for connected robots.

Accreditation is not certification.

Accreditation confirms that an inspection body or laboratory is competent for a defined scope. It is not a certificate for your product, and it does not cover work outside that scope.

In China, inspection bodies and laboratories are accredited by CNAS, the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment. CNAS takes part in the international ILAC and IAF recognition arrangements, which is what lets an accredited report be accepted outside China.

Always check the partner's scope schedule for the exact standard, edition and product before relying on a report.

How partner work runs.

  1. Scope

Agree which results must be accredited for your buyer, insurer or market, and which can come from ROBION inspection.

  2. Match

Select a partner whose current CNAS scope covers the exact standard, edition and product type.

  3. Link

Tie samples sent to the partner to serials and to the lot evidence, so the lab result describes the shipped units.

  4. Report

The partner issues its report under its own accreditation. ROBION's report references it.

What we check about a partner

Register entry
Accreditation number and validity on the CNAS public register.
Scope schedule
The exact standard, edition and product category are listed.
Impartiality
No ownership or commercial link to the factory being assessed.
Sample custody
A documented chain from sampled unit to test bench.
Boundary

A partner's accreditation is never presented as ROBION's.

Accredited reports carry the partner's name, accreditation number and scope. ROBION's own report references them and links them to the lot evidence.
